Edible Jack-o-Lantern Candy Bowls

Edible Jack-o-Lantern Candy Bowls

These edible Jack-o-Lantern Candy Bowls are so cute. Who doesn’t want a bowl they can eat? It’s such a fun idea and leaves no dishes to clean afterward.

Last week I talked about our chocolate selection and the difference between real chocolate and confectioner’s coatings. You can find all that information here. Again, I used the confectioner’s coatings, but you can use white chocolate and color it orange with powdered food coloring if you want.

First, you need some water balloons. Blow them up to your desired size. I blew mine up to about 3 inches in diameter. Tie them off and set them aside. Meanwhile, melt your confectioner’s coating in the microwave in 30 second intervals until completely melted. Let it cool a little before dipping your balloons. They could pop if the coating is too hot.

Dip your balloons in the coating and place on a parchment lined baking sheet. Allow to completely harden.

Next, pinch the balloon up by the knot so you have a bit of balloon that isn’t tight. Make a little snip here with a pair of sharp scissors and slowly let the air out of the balloon. You’ll have to work the balloon carefully at the bottom to get it unstuck, but it does come off pretty easily.

Now you have an empty edible bowl.

Fill it up with whatever Halloween candy you love. We have a great selection in our store. Come check it out and receive 10% off your Halloween candy purchase when you mention this blog post.
